Fortunate Recipient is fairly rowdy. The title cut is inspired by the words of my dear mother. In the mornings, to wake me up, she'd call out in her sweet voice (she DID have other voices too), "You are the FORTUNATE reCIPIENT of aNOTHER NEW DAY!!!" I really didn't like hearing that growing up, but now, I know she's right. There's a song called INSTRUMENT that is taken from the prayer of St Francis of Assisi. CHICKEN SOUP is a crowd favorite with logic that should stand anyone in good stead when they confront a Scientific Materialist. You don't want to be confronting a lot of those, but some are unavoidable. I NEED JESUS is the understatement of the year. The lyric goes like this. "More than I can say, more than I can tell, more than I can even understand that well!" RADIO is my favorite tune on the project: the melody ran me down one evening before a concert in South Carolina and I had to write it down on a scrap of paper before I could go on stage. The ever-present PHARAOH is on this project as well as a song called YOUR PRESENCE that my daughter says sounds like something I would have done 15 years ago. It was meant as a compliment, and as such I took it. This is a delightful project you will enjoy!
